Patty Yates Rollins

Patty Yates Rollins, age 85, of Owenton, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

Born July 25, 1933, in Wheelright, KY, she was the daughter of the late Elzie and Lucy Burga Yates.  She met the love of her life, Bobby Rollins, in the 5th grade. They were lifelong sweethearts and were married for nearly 50 years when he passed in 1999.  She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Joe Thomas Yates, and Lorraine Phillips.  Patty was retired from Sears, Robuck & Company, where she was the Customer Service Representative for the Tire Center.  In her younger years, she was a member at Grace Baptist Church in St. Albans, WV where she was a Sunday school teacher and active in the choir.  Upon moving to Owenton in 1996 she joined Cedar Hill Baptist Church. She was an avid bowler, winning many trophies, loved to cook and was best known for her pies and cakes.

Patty is survived by her sons, Michael (Peggie Tisch) Rollins and Dennis (Patti) Rollins; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Thursday, January 17th from  4-7pm.  Funeral services will follow at 7 pm with Bro. Bill Allen presiding.  Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park in Paintsville, KY on Saturday, January 19, 2019.  Memorial contributions may be made to Cedar Hill Baptist Church.
