Patsy Ann Smoot

Patsy Ann "Pat" Smoot, age 71, passed away Wednesday January 24, 2024 in Lexington. She was born in Owenton the daughter of the late Normal and Betty Dutton Ogden. She was also preceded by her husband Jerry Smoot and her brother, Jack Ogden. Pat was a farmer all of her life having raised cattle, tobacco and hay with her husband. She also rode, broke and trained thoroughbred and walking horses for many years. She loved being "Mammie" to her two grandchildren and watching them play baseball and softball. She was a member of Greenup Fork Baptist Church. She is survived by her son Michael (Elizabeth) Smoot, two grandchildren, Hayden and Hayley Smoot, her brother, Scott (Rebecca) Ogden, sister-in-law, Becky Ogden and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be on Thursday February 1 at 2:00 PM at the Seminary Street location of New Funeral Home. Visitation will start at 11:00AM. Burial will follow in the Owenton Cemetery and memorials may be made to Owen Co. Friends of Animals.
