Patricia Karsner Smoot

Patricia Karsner Smoot, age 73, of Monterey, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019 from injuries sustained in an atv accident.

Born April 6, 1946, in Kalamazoo, MI, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Kephart Dews.  She was the widow of Vernon Smoot and was also preceded in death by her brother, Father, John Dews. Patty lived in Tiffin, OH before moving to Lexington at 12 years old.  She graduated from Bryan Station High School and went on to work for PNC Bank for over forty years. She began her career as a teller, held several positions and eventually retired as a bank manager. In her retirement, she worked for North Park Pharmacy and Cull Pharmacy in the durable medical equipment department. A friend to many, Patty was full of life.  She loved music, singing, singing karaoke, shopping and spending time with friends. One of her favorite past times was spending time at the pool.

Patty will be missed by a host of loving friends.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Burial will take place in the Owenton Cemetery on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Noon.  Anyone who wishes to honor her memory is encouraged to make contribution to the Owen County Friends of Animals.
