Pat Harrison

Mr. Pat Harrison, age 81, of Sparta passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital. Born January 5, 1933, in Sparta, he was the son of the late J.L. and Snowdye Lee Harrison and preceded in death by his sister Jane Poston. Mr. Harrison was a farmer and work at the tobacco warehouse. He was a member of the Sparta Baptist Church and the Tadmore #108 Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife Betty Skirvin Harrison. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters-in-law, Geneva Spenneberg, Evelyn Ballard, Ruby Bramblett, L.J. and Mary Ellen Skirvin, Nancy and Harold Howard, Bobby and Betty Lou Skirvin, Judy Hearne and Brenda Martin; cousins, Jack Harrison and Sam Morris and several nieces and nephews. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Thursday, July 24th from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday with Bro. Pat Butcher and Bro. Ed Deaton officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Poplar Grove Cemetery or Sparta Baptist Church.
