Owen P Ashcraft, Jr.

Owen P. Ashcraft, Jr., age 74, of Sanders, passed away Monday, July 22, 2019 at his home.

Born March 26, 1945, in Owen County, he was the son of the late Owen P. Ashcraft, Sr. and Pearl Elaine Criswell Ashcraft and the widower of Mildred Jean Short Ashcraft.  He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Connie Sue Stewart and James Wesley "Jim" Ashcraft. Owen served his country in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam War. He retired from Itron as a meter technician.

Surviving are his brother, Arlan Wayne Ashcraft;his nieces, Tammy West, Tonya Capito, Chris Ashcraft and Sara Ashcraft and his nephews Brian and Travis Stewart.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Saturday, July 27, 2019 from 10-11am.  Funeral services will follow at 11am with burial in the Owenton Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
