Orville J. Lilly

Orville J. Lilly, 101, passed away Tues. August 25 2009 in Lexington. He was born in Owen County the son of the late Jesse and Ann Duvall Lilly. He was a farmer and member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church. His wife, Mable Frances Smith Lilly preceded him in death along with three sons, Orville “Jitter”, Jesse T. and Ray Thomas Lilly, one great-great-grandson, Zackery Lilly, three sisters, Hallie Walls, Mable Roberts and Bertha Lilly and three brothers, Herbert, Mace and James Lilly. He is survived by a daughter Shirley and husband Gerald Minch of Squiresville, a brother, Charles B. Lilly of Owenton, two sisters, Zula Smith of Swallowfield and Margaret Cain of Warsaw. Eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren also survive along with numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Friday, August 28th, from 4 - 8 pm. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 2pm. Burial will be in Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Cedar Hill Baptist Church.
