Orville Delaney, age 81, of Sparta, passed away Monday, February 8, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born November 5, 1939, in Scott County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Guy and Edith Epperson Delaney. He was preceded in death by seven siblings. Orville served his country in the United States Army and was retired from General Motors. Orville loved spending his time outdoors. He had a passion for aviation and spent much time building an airplane, but his biggest passion was for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He will be missed by his wife of over 53 years, Doris Jean Hall Delaney; his daughters, Angela (Chris) Burch of Madison, Indiana and Samantha Delaney of Owenton; his brother, Ronald Delaney of Felicity, OH; his ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Derek, Bradley, Brandon, Logan, Abby, Mark, and Chris Burch
Mcdonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Friday, February 12, 2021, from 11 am until 1 pm for a pass-thru visitation. Masks and social distancing are required. Funeral services, with limited seating, will follow at 1 pm with Bro. David “Milkweed” Wotier presiding. Burial will be in the Poplar Grove Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Association.
