Ora Sharon

Ora Sharon, 91, of Owenton, passed away, Sunday, August 10th at the New Horizons Medical Center. Born January 25, 1917 in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Effie O’Banion Wash and was preceded in death by her husband James Sharon and her grandson Paul Sharon. She was a homemaker and a member of the Richland Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Larry Sharon of Dry Ridge; Daughter Lois Shireman of Hazard; Brother, Marvin Wash of Chattanooga, TN; two grandchildren, Crystal Sharon and Sharon Shireman; two great grandchildren, Mary and Sam Sharon and one great grandson Jeremiah Sharon. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald & New Funeral Homes where family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Tuesday from 4-8 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10am on Wednesday with Bro. David “Milkweed” Wotier presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Richland Baptist Church.
