Opal Mccord Tingle Murphy

October 16, 1921 — February 28, 2010

Opal McCord Tingle Murphy, age 88 and a resident of Carrollton, passed away Sunday, February 28th, at the Green Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carrollton. Opal was the daughter of the late Roland McCord and Mable Perkinson. She was also preceded in death by husbands' Cassie B. Tingle and Jerry Murphy as well as her step mother; Marie McCord, and two sisters; Beatrice Bolton and an infant sister. Opal was once the pianist for the First Baptist Church in Carrollton. She farmed and worked at the former Ben Franklin Store as well. She is survived by a nephew; Phillip Bolton of Lexington, In, a brother-in-law: James Bolton also of Lexington, In, five cousins. Visitation will be held Friday, March 5th, from 11am until 1pm at the Graham-Dunn Funeral Home in Carrollton. Funeral services will begin Friday at 1pm. Rev. Chris White will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Carrollton I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
