Mr. Opal Jump, age 90 and a resident of Warsaw, passed away December 21st at the Gallatin Healthcare Center. Born June 7, 1922, he was the son of the late Elzia and Nora Perkins Jump. He was also preceded in death by his wife: Evelyn Marie Osborne; one son: Harold Wayne Jump and three brothers: Ell William, Golden and Buford Jump. Opal served his country in the United States Army as a Sargent during World War II. He later worked in the Nursery Industry until his retirement. He was a member of the Warsaw United Methodist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by one son: Robert Jump of Warsaw; four daughters: Judith Anne Robertson of Campbellsburg, Brenda K. Jones of Sparta, Betty S. Ramos of Carrollton and Nancy L. McEntire of Virginia; and two sisters: Faye Hughes of Bedford and Lola Matley of Warsaw. Thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter also survive. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 26th, from 10am until 2pm at the Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home in Warsaw. Funeral services will begin Wednesday at 2pm. Rev. Denny French will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Warsaw Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Ray Jump, Timmy Robertson, Chris Courtney, Stacey Sorrell and David Lewis.
