Nathan Wayne Fitzgerald

Nathan Wayne Fitzgerald, of Ashland, Kentucky, and originally of Owenton, KY, passed away unexpectedly on November 21st, 2025. His passing leaves a deep ache in the hearts of his family, who loved him beyond measure.

Born on June 28, 1984, he was a husband, daddy, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, and friend whose presence filled every room he walked into.

Nathan had a personality that could make people laugh even on the hardest days. He was strong-willed, loyal, protective, and full of heart. Whether he was picking, aggravating, joking, or simply sitting around talking, he brought a light that everyone around him felt.

His mother often said that Nathan would give you the shirt off his back, and anyone who knew him knew that to be true. He lived a life defined by love, family, and hard work, and his legacy will continue to be cherished by his children.

He was preceded in death by his daddy, Ricky Fitzgerald, their passing only eight days apart.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Melissa Craycraft-Fitzgerald and his beloved children: Cameron, Lily (Weston), Toby, and Betsy Fitzgerald. His most recent pride and joy was his grandbaby, Lainey Lindsey.

He is also survived by his mother, Patsy Fitzgerald; his sisters, Gayla (Eric) Lewis, Joy (Charlie) Colligan, and Mariah (James) Keith; and his nieces and nephews, Audrey (Nate) Farrar, Brandon (Trinity) Lewis, Cody (Joelle), Ellie Anderson, Josie Colligan, Raylan, Ruth, and Ripp Keith.

Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of his life on Tuesday, November 25th, 2025, at the West Seminary location of New Funeral Homes in Owenton, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with funeral services beginning at 7:00 PM.

He will be laid to rest on Wednesday, November 26th, next to his daddy at the Fitzgerald Farm, where he grew up. Those wishing to join the procession are asked to meet at 10:00 AM at the West Seminary location.
