Naomi Louise Mason Smoot

Naomi Louise Mason Smoot, 86, passed away at her home on March 29, 2018. She was born in Owen County the daughter of the late Roy "Jarfly" Mason and Allie Mae Bennett Mason. She was also preceded by her husband Frank and her brothers, Howard, Roy Jr. and William Mason. She worked for Fruit of the Loom for 28 years as a seamstress and enjoyed gardening, reading and her puzzles. Surviving are her children and their spouses, Diana (Gary) Soard, Frank "Junior" (Debbie) Smoot, Gary (Lydia) Smoot, Yvonne (Larry) Karsner, Sharon (Larry) Lankford, Tammy (Timmy) Burke and Patricia (Glendane) Taylor, fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren and two more on the way. Her sister O'Della McLafferty and brothers Ralph and Orville Mason also survive.Visitation will be on Friday March 30 from 4 to 8 at McDonald & New Funeral Home - Main St. The funeral is Saturday at 1PM. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorials may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
