Nancye Jean Bartley

Mrs. Nancy Jean Bartley, age 74, of Owenton went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 1, 2017. Born April 28, 1942 in Mercer County, Kentucky she was the daughter of the late Loith Gifford and Lyle Collins Harlow. She graduated from Bryan Station High School in Lexington. She was married to the late Carroll William Bartley for nearly 56 years. Nancye's grandchildren were her greatest joy. Loving and caring for all children who came into her world was one of her greatest gifts. Through example, she taught us how to serve others. In addition to her parents, her husband Carroll William Bartley, preceded her in death. Nancye was the mother of Carole (Glenn) Mollette and Alice Newby; the grandmother of Kaitlin Johnson Sword (Jacob), Jordan Walls, Christina Johnson, Katherine Johnson, Jared Mollette and Zachary Mollette; the great grandmother of Jameson Mollette, Charlestyn Johnson and Ellie Sword. She was the sister of Connie (Eugene) Helton, Patricia (Raymond) Wolf and Ronnie (Violetta Bartley. She was also an aunt, niece, cousin and friend to many. All who knew her will remember Nancye's generous spirit. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 5-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday at the funeral home with burial in the Stamping Ground Masonic Cemetery.
