Mollie Smith Slaughter

Mollie Jane Smith Slaughter, age 88, of Owenton passed away Monday, August 10, 2015 at the New Horizons Medical Center. Born July 11, 1927, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Effie Wainscott Smith and the widow of Floren T. Slaughter. Mollie was a homemaker and a member of the Cedar Hill Baptist Church. Surviving are her son, Ed Slaughter; her daughter, Lois Gaines; two granddaughters, Cindy Gaines and Stephanie (Dale) Hudson; five great grandchildren, Jake, Jeremy and Josh Hudson, Bethany Bottoms and Matthew Wilburn. Also surviving is her great great granddaughter, Annabell Hudson. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. A graveside service will be held at 2pm Tuesday, August 11th in the Owenton Cemetery with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding.
