Mildred Holbert Wiser

Mildred Holbert Wiser, age 91, of Owenton, passed away January 17, 2012 at New Horizon Medical Center. Born June 23, 1920, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Wheatley and Bertha Holbert and was preceded in death by her husband, Gayle Wiser and her daughter Joyce Kelly. Mrs. Wiser was a life long member of the Squiresville Baptist Church and in later years a member of Owenton First Baptist Church. She was an upholsterer with Ruth Upholstery and also worked for Community Action. Surviving are her granddaughter Donna (Don Ellis) Wainscott of Monterey and her sister, Sue Bradley of Peoria, AZ. McDonald and New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Saturday, January 21, 2011 from 11am to 1pm. Funeral services will follow at 1pm with burial in the Squiresville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Owenton Manor Activities Fund.
