Michael Vincent Wood

Michael Vincent Wood, age 35, of Lexington and formerly of Owenton, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the University of KY Medical Center in Lexington.

Michael was born on October 3, 1989, in Florence, KY, to Deborah Young Wood and Troy Wood, who survive.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Letha Duncan Young and Stephen Warren Wood, and his sister, Stephanie Byrd. Michael was a graduate of Owen County High School and furthered his education in diesel mechanics.

He is survived by his parents, Troy (Leah) Wood and Deborah Young Wood; his sons, James Michael Wood and Dawson Vincent Wood; his paternal grandparents, Allen and Shirley Doll; his siblings, Ayshia Wood Searcy and Adrian Byrd; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

New Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at 1 p.m.  Burial will be in the Squiresville Cemetery after the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Owen County Friends of Animals.
