Meryl Violet Ketron

March 23, 2005 — April 19, 2020

Meryl Violet Ketron, age 15 of Owenton passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020.  The world lost the perfect melody, the perfect song on that day.  An irreplaceable light has diminished, our beautiful Meryl is gone. She was a soul that was never described to justice, she saved and loved others through the battle to save and love herself. She is released from all of it, but we all have lost so much.

Meryl was born March 23, 2005, in Cincinnati, OH to Rachelle Hutchinson Ketron and Jonathon Ketron.  She was a freshman at Owen County High School where she was in the marching band.  She was incredibly musically gifted, playing trumpet, piano, guitar and ukelele, many of those self-taught.  She loved art and photography and entertaining others.  She won her middle school talent show with her comedic routine.

She will be very missed by her family; her parents, Jonathon Ketron, Rachelle Hutchinson Ketron and Marsha Newell; her siblings, Raelinn, Gwenn, Finley, Patrick, Natalie, Joseph, and Elizabeth; her grandparents, Luellen Hutchinson, Deborah Ketron, Ralph Ketron, Jr., Paul Powell, Sr. and her great grandfather, Paul Leeper, Sr.  Meryl is also survived by many friends and extended family.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are being made for a temporary memorial site at Meryl's home, 310 Old Sweet Owen Road.  You are invited to drop by, light a luminary, leave a memory, memento, etc.  Please practice good social distancing.  The memorial will remain up until Thursday afternoon.

To honor her memory she would prefer donations be made to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline c/o Vibrant Emotional Health, Attn: Development, 50 Broadway, Floor 19, New York, NY 1004.

"The song has ended, but her sweet melody will linger on..."
