Mayme Lee Smith

Mayme Lee Smith, 90, passed away at her home on Saturday November 4, 2017. She was born in Owen County on December 7, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Margaret "Maggie" Dempsey Wilhoite. She was also preceded by her husband Paul Smith, eleven siblings and a son-in-law Larry Pierson. She was a homemaker and attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Surviving are her children, Paulette (Gary) Cobb, Judy Pierson, Janice (Billy) Riddle and Kevin (Tammy) Smith, her eight grandchildren, Michele Koziol, Lisa Jones, Jennifer Power, Jessica Dietrich, Ryan and Casey Pierson, Kayla Raines and Corby Smith, her eight great grandchildren, Krista, Shelby, Larry Blaine, Kayden Ray, Berkley Cole, Griffin, Megan and Bryce. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be Tuesday Nov. 7 from 10AM til 2PM at McDonald & New - Main St. The funeral is at 2PM. Burial will follow in the Owenton Cemetery and memorials may be given to Mt. Pleasant Baptist, Hospice of the Bluegrass or the charity of choice. The family wishes to acknowledge the special kindness shown to them by Megan, Yvonne and Lorrie from Three Rivers and Candi and Judy P. from Hospice.
