Mayme Nix Dunavent

Mayme Nix Dunavent, 96, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012. She was born in the Needmore community of Owen County the daughter of the late David and Amanda Payton Nix. She was also preceded by her husband Delbert whom she married on Feb. 5, 1937 and two brothers Laurel and Marvin Nix. Mayme retired from Owen Electric after 33 years of service and was a longtime member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Surviving are her sons, Glen (Joyce) Dunavent and Ronnie (Donna) Dunavent both of Owenton, a sister Helen Lynn of Owenton, five grandchildren, Bart (Jan) Dunavent, Kevin Dunavent, Jill Dunavent, Janet (Brian) Weimer and Stacy (Jarrod) Lilly, eight great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday Nov. 25 from 2 til 5 at McDonald & New Funeral Home - Seminary St. The funeral will be on Monday at 1PM at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. David "Milkweed" Wotier and Maurice Traynor presiding. Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Ridge Church or the Owenton Manor Activities Fund. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.
