Maxine Emerson Hudson

Maxine Emerson Gillespie Hudson, age 88, of Owenton passed away Monday, April 3, 2017 following a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born June 17, 1928, in Bethel, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Newton and Christine Wilbur Gillespie and the widow of Donald Hudson. Known to her friends as Max, she was devoted member of the Owenton First Christian Church where she was active in various ministries as long as her health would allow. She was a self taught pianist and a longstanding member of the VFW. She was also a former member of the Owen County Woman's Club and the Owen County Historical Society. Surviving are her children, Karen Hudson, Maureen (Bob) Brems, Michael Hudson and Ron (Pam) Hudson; seven grandchildren, Tanya Hudson, Brian Hudson, Robyn Bodine, Lance Hudson, Eric Brems, Zachary Brems and Sarah Brems; five great grandchildren, Hudson Brems, Nora Marie Hudson, Aly and Taylor Moberly and Drew Hudson; her special niece, Tena Probst and her brothers, Ray and Jim Gillespie. A host of nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday at the Owenton First Christian Church with Bro. Greg Guy and Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotierpresiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 6100 Dutchmans Lane, Suite 401, Louisville, KY 40205-3284.
