Matt Stewart

John Matthew Stewart, age 34, of Owenton, passed away Monday, March 3, 2025.

Born October 5th, 1990, in La Grange, he was the son of Johnny Stewart and Sarah Bitzer Stewart. Matt enjoyed building model cars, collecting die-cast cars and trucks. He also enjoyed riding 4-wheelers and "piddling" outdoors in his free time. Matt loved doing anything he could to help his family and friends and especially took great pride in being a father to his two children.

He will be missed by his parents; Sarah Stewart and Johnny (Kristen Miller) Stewart; children; Kaelyn Avery Stewart and Charles Asher Stewart; sister, Misty Stewart; his Aunt Sissy, Susan Wallace; nieces Brailey Lynch and Skyler Lynch; girlfriend, Paige Link; and mothers of his children, Keisha and Jamey; as well as a host of extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Carla and Charles Stewart, and Charles and Margaret Bitzer.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Sunday, March 9th, 2025, from 4 - 8 pm.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 10th at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in the Wheatley Masonic Cemetery with Bro. Denny French officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to New Funeral Home for expenses.
