Mary Joyce Stafford

Mary Joyce Stafford, age 82, of Owenton, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017 in Warsaw, Kentucky.Born July 2, 1935, in Sulphur, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Adele Birkla Purcell and the widow of Paul "Poppy" Stafford.  Mary was a member of the Beechgrove Baptist Church and a Registered Nurse.  She worked most of her career at Owen County Memorial Hospital and Three Rivers Health Department.  She is survived by her daughter Paula Dempsey; her grandchildren, Chris (Karen) Dempsey, John Dempsey and Kim (Bruce) Wainscott; her great grandchildren, Christian and Khloe Dempsey and Austin and Grace Wainscott.  She is also survived by her brothers, Bobby and Robert Purcell.McDonald &  New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Sunday, August 6, 2017 from 4 - 8 PM.  Funeral services will be held at 11am Monday with Bro. Steve Delaney presiding.  Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to the Beechgrove Baptist Church.
