Mary Margaret Shelton

Mary Margaret Shelton, age 83, of Monterey passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at her home.Born June 18, 1930 in Owen County she was the daughter of the late Warren and Minnie Mae Lathrem Wood and the widow of Les Shelton.  She was also preceded in death by her children, Steve Shelton and Marcia Duvall.  Mrs. Shelton was a homemaker, attended Frankfort First Assembly and enjoyed babysitting her grandkids and great grandkids.Surviving are her daughter, Mary Leslie (Bill) Atha of Monterey; her six grandchildren, Brad (Candy) Shelton, Melissa (Joe) Beers, Lesley (John) Wilhoite, Michael Jump, Stacey Jump and Kayla Duvall and her 11 great grandchildren, Heather, Dakota, Sadie, Emilee, Addison, Tyler, Clay, Abby, Carson, Hannah and Haileigh.McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 4-8pm.  Funeral services will be at 1pm Saturday with Bro. Ernest Fridge presiding.  Burial will be in the Monterey Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Monterey Cemetery, Hospice of the Bluegrass or Frankfort First Assembly.
