Mary Betty Ligon

Mary Betty Ligon, age 88, of Owenton passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012 at the Owenton Manor. Born November 9, 1923, in the South Fork Community of Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Aaron F. and Lucy Jane Gray Ligon. Also preceding her in death were her siblings, Grover Gray (Grace) Ligon, Boyce C. (Jane H.) Ligon and Eleanor B. Ligon. Miss Ligon was a retired hospital dietician and a member of the South Fork Baptist Church. Surviving are her niece Toby (Billy) Bell and their children and grandchildren, Amber Bell; Allen Gray (Alicia) Bell; Bethany Grace and Taylor Gray Bell; her nephew, Michael (Jean) Ligon and their children Jill (Ryan) Davis and Kevin Ligon. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 11am - 2pm. Funeral services will follow at 2pm with Bro. Jesse Bourne presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Owenton Manor Activities Fund or a charity of choice.
