Mary L. Smith

Mary L. Smith, age 86, of Sparta, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Woodcrest Nursing Home.

Born March 25, 1933, in Sparta, KY, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Fay Bond Bickers and the widow of Forest Delano Smith.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Rodney Bond Smith and her infant brother, Thomas Bickers. Mary was a homemaker and a member of the Sparta Christian Church.

She is survived by her son, Larry (Bonnie) Smith; her  grandson Joshua Aaron Smith and her great grandchildren, Joselyn, Jase, Jensen and Jonah Broering.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 11am until 1pm.  Funeral services will follow at 1pm with Bro. Denny French presiding. Burial will be int he Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to Sparta Christian Church
