Mary June Lowe, 82,of Owenton, passed away Thursday, November 19th at her residence following an extended illness. Born January 10, 1927, in New Orleans, LA, she was the daughter of the late Marlston Flynn, John Wesley and Josephine Lillian (Hall) Stowers and was preceded in death by her sons, Robert Lowe and Tommy Patton and three brothers, Julius, Doug and Buddy Flynn. Mrs. Lowe was the Head Waitress at Masterson Steak House in Louisville for 17 years and was also a switchboard operator. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church where she was the pianist. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bro. Wilbert Wesley “Bob” Lowe, JR.; two sons, Perry Wesley Lowe of Owenton and Wilbert Wesley Lowe, III of Carrollton; her daughter Josie Hazlett of Monterey; eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location, Tuesday, November 24th, from 11am until 2pm. Funeral services will follow at 2pm. Burial will be in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to funeral expenses.
