Mary Alice Hendren

Mary Alice Hendren, age 85 and a resident of Warsaw, passed away Friday, January 8th, at the Gallatin Health Care Center in Warsaw. Born November of 1924, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Poland and Hallie Berkley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Orville Hendren and one step-son; Orville Eugene Hendren and three brothers; Clifford, Tom and Jack Poland. Mary was a homemaker and member of the Oakland Baptist Church. Mary Alice is survived by one son: Jesse Hendren (wife Claudia) of Warsaw, one daughter, Mae Hoskins (husband Ed) of Owensboro; three brothers: Henry Poland of Cummings GA, Arthur Poland of Warsaw, and Curtis Poland of Dothan Alabama; and one sister: Bertha Ogden of Florence KY. Also surviving are six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including two special nieces, Sherri Conley and Judy McGuire. Visitation will be held Monday, January 11th, from 11am until 2pm, at the Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home in Warsaw. Funeral services will begin at 2pm with Rev. Billy Bussell officiating. Burial will follow in the Warsaw Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hospice of the Bluegrass-Northern Kentucky at 7388 Turfway Road Florence, Ky 41042.
