Mary Code Cress

Mary Code Cress, age 92, of Owenton and formerly of Florence, passed away at her residence, Wednesday February 25, 2015. She was born November 16, 1922 in Walton, KY to the late James Martin and Corrine Tomlin Cress. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Calvin "Buck" Cress and her siblings, Joseph Code, Ann Code and Helen Renaker. Mary was a retired registered nurse with the Boone County Health Department. Before her service there she was a nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Covington. She was also a member of the St. Edward's Catholic Church. Surviving are her brother, Martin Code and his wife Carolyn; her nephew, Kevin Code and her niece Kelly Bain. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Noon on Saturday, February 28th at St. Edward's Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 10am at the church. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Verona. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
