Mary Evelyn Beverly, 88 and a resident of Warsaw, passed away Saturday, July 18th, in Lexington at the home of her daughter, Donna Hughes. Born November 28, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Marvin T. Naive and Sarah Johnson Naive. She was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Beverly, and a son, Dan Thomas Beverly. Mary Evelyn was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Warsaw Christian Church where she served as Sunday School Teacher. She was instrumental in founding the Gallatin County Library and served on the Library Board for many years. Mary Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Donna Beverly Hughes (husband Bob) of Lexington, two brothers: Marvin T. Naive Jr. (wife Jewell) of Brentwood, TN., and James F. Naive (wife Nell) of Montgomery, AL. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Amanda Beverly of Lexington, Sara Beverly Noble (husband Kevin) of Richmond, Ky, Elizabeth Hughes DeJaco (husband Tom) of Sussex, WI, Rob Hughes (wife Kari) of Apex, NC, and Ken Hughes of Lexington. Two great granddaughters survive and they are; Ashley DeJaco and Taylor Danielle Noble. Ms. Beverly is also survived by a brother-in-law: Carroll Bevarly (wife Margaret) of Smith Groves, KY. Arrangements are being handled by Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home where Visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at the Warsaw Christian Church on Thursday, June 23rd, at 1pm with Rev. Phil Case officiating. Burial will follow in the Warsaw Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Warsaw Christian Church. Serving as pallbearers will be: Amanda Beverly, Kevin and Sara Noble, Tom and Betsy DeJaco, Tom Naïve, Rob and Kari Hughes, Sally, Haddix, Adam Payton, Tyler Boaz, and Katie Huddleston. Serving as Honorary pallbearers will be Lafe Smith Jr., Tina Riley, and the CWF members of the Warsaw Christian Church.
