Mary Betty Wainscott Haines

Mrs. Mary Betty Haines, age 84, of Owenton, passed away Monday, December 22, 204 at Baptist Hospital in Lexington. Born May 7, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Eunice "Pooch" Smoot Wainscott and the widow of Charles M. "Pete" Haines. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church Owenton. She also worked previously for the US Census Bureau, Dr. Maurice Bowling, the Owen County Health Department, and Morgan Jewelry Store. Surviving are her children, Mike (Cindy) Haines, Jeff Haines and Pat (Darrell) Smoot. Four grandchildren also survive, Michael (Tamara) Rash, Jessica Smoot, Chris and Katie Haines, as well as her cousins, Ann Wainscott and Jimmy Wainscott. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Friday, December 26th from Noon to 3pm. Funeral services will follow at 3pm with Bro. Greg Guy presiding.
