Marvin Collin Ogden, age 92, of Owenton, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. Born May 5, 1918, he was the son of the late John Wesley Ogden, II and Martha Jane Gillock Ogden. Four brothers and a grandson preceded him in death. Mr. Ogden was a member of First Baptist Church where he was a former deacon. He was a 75-year member of the Oddfellows Lodge #213, making him the longest living member in KY. He was the parts manager for Davis and Gains Ford and then later NAPA. He was also a dispatcher for the Sheriffs Office later in life. Mr. Ogden served his country in the Army during WWII and earned a Purple Heart. His wife of 67 years, Florence Gibson Ogden; three daughters, Phyllis Malcomb of Owenton; Nilda Kay Slatterly of Frankfort and Magarette Ruth Clark of Georgetown, IN; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren survive him. Marvin was a gentle spirit who led his life in devotion to his family and heavenly father. McDonald & New Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Sunday, January 9th from 2-6pm. Funeral services will be held at 11am Monday with Bro. Jesse Bourne and Bro. Brad Banks presiding.
