Marvin Douglas Gibson, 77, passed away Friday April 12, 2019 at his home. He was born in Owen County the son of the late William Riley and Mary Lou Frazier Gibson and was also preceded by two brothers, Glenn Riley and Robert Wesley Gibson. Marvin was a salesman for RCA Records for over 30 years. He enjoyed his garden, fishing, raising chickens, camping with family, making people laugh and mostly just spending time with family friends and his wife of 58 years. Surviving are his wife Jacquelyn Leifrig Gibson, his children, Joseph M. (Melissa) Gibson, Constance R. Gibson, Daniel M. (Rebecca) Gibson, Catherine M. Cobb and Susan M. (Joe) Colligan, his brother, Paul (Edna) Gibson and his eleven grandchildren, Christopher W. Cobb, Bridget E. (Joshua) Mason, Johnathon L. Smith, April M. Beach, Michael P. (Brittany) Colligan, Jason G. Smith, Amanda B. Cobb, Emily C. Gibson, Abigail L. Colligan, Brent M.Gibson and Bryce L. Gibson and his eight great grandchildren, Shannon R. Cobb, Joshua M. Mason Jr., Hannah L. Mason, Brody A. Beach, Brayden M. Colligan, Brady W. Phillips, Colt J. Phillips and Allie G. Colligan. Visitation will be Monday April 15 from 4 to 8 at McDonald & New-Seminary St. The funeral is Tuesday at 11AM with burial following in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
