Marvin Davis Burford
February 20, 1927 — September 12, 2018
Born February 20, 1927, in Owen County, he was the son of the late Byron L. and Ethel Kenney Burford and was the widower of Irene Stewart Burford. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Roy Lee Burford, Leland Burford and Martha Jane Cook. Marvin was a lifelong farmer and retired from the Commonwealth of Kentucky in State Highway Department. He was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church and attended Owenton First Christian Church.
Marvin is survived by his children, Patty (Don) Whobrey and Randy (Kelly) Burford; his grandchildren, Andi Burford, Allie Burford, Monica Hamn, Kevin (Bandie) Whobrey and Tracey (Eric) Cornett; great grandchildren, Morgan Whobrey, Brittany Stidham and great-great grandson, Hayden Hamn.
McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Friday, September 14, 2018 from 11 am until 2 pm. Funeral services will follow at 2pm with Bro. Greg Guy presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to the Owenton First Christian Church.
