Martha Lee Jones Stamper

Martha Lee Jones Stamper, age 91, of Georgetown and formerly of Owenton, passed away Friday, May 8, 2015 at the Windsor Garden Assisted Living. Born September 27, 1923 in Winchester, KY she was the daughter of the late Marshall and Grace Napier Jones and the widow of William "Bud" Stamper. Martha was a member of the Owenton First Christian Church and was the first Extenstion Cooperative Home Demonstration Agent in Owen County. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Irwin of Georgetown and Lucinda (Tom) Taylor of Platte City, MO, ; four granddaughters, Courtney (Barrett) Blankenship, Miranda Warren, Meredith (Brandon) Gutshall and Rynne (Blaine) O'Reilly. Eleven great grandchildren also survive, Burke and Campbell Warren, Ellie and Emery Lockwood, Jeb Blakenship, Deacon, Grisham, Oliver and Derby Blair Gutshall and George "Buddy" and Peter O'Reilly. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Owenton First Christian Church on Monday, May 11th from 10-11am. A memorial service will follow at 11am with Bro. Greg Guy officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Owenton First Christian Church or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
