Marlyn "Boots" Osborne

Mr. Marlyn Ray "Boots" Osborne, age 76, of Owenton passed away at his home on Monday, February 8, 2016. Born October 8, 1939, in Owen County, he was the son of the late William "Bill" and Elva Oakes Osborne. He was the widower of Judy Carroll Hearne Osborne, who he married on August 14, 1964 and also preceded by his brothers, William Lendal and Jackie Thomas Osborne. Boots retired as a maintenance man from the Commonwealth of Kentucky with 29 years of service. He was a longtime member of the Owenton First Methodist Church and the Owenton/Owen County Volunteer Fire Department. His fire career spanned 38 years, serving as a member, assistant chief, chief, captain and treasurer. Surviving are his daughter, Susanne (Jeremy) Wright; his grandchildren, Dylan and Madalyn Wright and a host of extended family and friends. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangement. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Thursday, February11, 2016 from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday with Bro. Matthew Merrill officiating. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to the Owenton First Methodist Church.
