Marlene Dietriech Mason

Marlene Louise Dietriech Mason, 82, of Owenton, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the Owenton Center.Born October 13, 1934 in Covington, KY, she was the daughter of the Carlos Michael Dietriech and Helen Edna Runge Dietriech Runge.  She was the widow of Edward Mason.  Marlene worked as a bookkeeper for H & S Pogue Company in Cincinnati.  She was a member of the Owenton First United Methodist Church where she was a former chairman of the board and Sunday school teacher.  She volunteered at the Owenton Manor, was a member of the Owen County Senior Citizens where she was past secretary and was a member of the Owen County Historical Society.  Surviving are her brother Don Micheal Dietriech of Sunlake, AZ; her nieces and nephew, Jennifer Meyers, Amy Beth Turner and Kevin Michael Dietreich; also surviving are her niece Naomi Smoot and her caregiver Sharon Lankford.McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 10 am until the time of the funeral at 2pm.  Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery with Bro. Matt Merrill presiding.  Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church.
