Mark Kevin Mckenzie

Mark Kevin McKenzie, age 58, died June 29, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY. Mark was born November 10, 1963 and was the son of June McKenzie and Martha Judy Taylor; he was the step-son of Everett Taylor. Mark was a member of the Lighthouse Church in Owenton. Mark worked as a construction worker, farmer and factory worker. He loved riding motorcycles, camping and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Mark may be best remembered as a jokester. Mark was preceded in death by his father, June McKenzie; a brother, Gregory Allen McKenzie; his paternal grandparents, Oscar and Goldie McKenzie: maternal grandparents, Jimmy D and Bertha Judy. Also preceding him in death was his precious grandson, Braxton Cooke. Surviving are his mother, Martha Taylor; brother, Brian Taylor; daughters, Brook (Joe) Chapman and Hope House; three grandchildren Emileah Pearson, Kymiya and Kyiz; and extended family members. Mark is also survived by his long time girlfriend, Shannon House. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be held Friday, July 8th, from 4-8 pm at the Lighthouse Church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 9th, at 1pm at the church, with Howard Chipman and Gene Weaver officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the Lighthouse Church.
