Marilyn Joyce Rhodes

Marilyn Joyce Downs Rhodes, of Owenton, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at her home. Born May 21, 1959, in Henry County, she was the daughter of the late David Downs, Sr. and Mary Joyce Tipton. Marilyn was a former cook and a homemaker. Surviving are her husband, William “Bill” Michael Rhodes; her son, Dustin Griffith of Grant County; her daughter, Jennifer Moore of Boone County; her brother, David Downs, Jr. of Bagdad; four sisters, Pat Copas of Bagdad, Tammy Long of Frankfort, Debbie Downs of Bagdad and Edith Bledsoe of Cynthiana. Her grandchildren, Mark Griffith, Samantha, Gaige and Joie Moore; three nephews, two nieces and one great nephew also survive her. McDonald & New Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 3rd at 2pm, at the Main Street location, with Bro. David “Milkweed” Wotier presiding. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
