Marie Frances Dunavent

Marie Frances Dunavent, age 88, of Owenton, passed away at her home on Monday, June 5, 2017.Born November 29, 1928, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Othel and Pauline Bishop Ayres and the widow of Clarence Dunavent. She was also preceded in death by her son, Ricky Dunavent and her brother Buddy Ayres.Also her granddaughter, Shelly Marie Dunavent.  Marie was a homemaker and a former clerk at Morgan and Thomas Drug Store.  She was a long time member of the Owenton First Christian Church and always strived to help others when she could.  She is survived by her son, Gary (Lisa) Dunavent; her five grandchildren, Brad (Michelle) Dunavent, Jessica (J.R.) Lovins, Candace (Brad) Thayer, Richard (Amanda) Dunavent, II and Jean-Marie Dunavent. Also her daughter-in-law, Billie Dunavent.  Thirteen great-grandchildren also survive Luke, Olivia, Kohl, Eva, Lucy, Nadia, Myles, Julian, Khloe, Greyson, Asher, Nolan and Emma.McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Saturday, June 10, 2017, from 10 am until 1 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 1 pm with Bro. Brad Thayer presiding.  Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Building Fund. A meal will follow at the Owenton First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
