Margie Hammond

Margie Mason Hammond, 86, of Owenton, passed away Friday, February 13, 2009, at the Owenton Manor. Born September 16, 1922, in Owen Co, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Artie Nash Mason and the widow of George Andrew Hammond. She was also preceded by her first husband Robert Kincaid, her great grandson Charlie Miller and 10 brothers and sisters. Margie was a homemaker and a member of the Canby Tabernacle where she was a longtime song leader and Sunday school teacher. She is survived by her son Gene Ray (Marijo) Kincaid of Michigan; her daughter Doris (Julian) Kincaid of Owenton; her brother, Marvin Mason of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Pearl Hunter of Atlanta, GA and Ada Hammond of Corinth. Seven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren also survive. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Monday, February 16th, from 4 - 8 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Tuesday with Bro. David “Milkweed” Wotier presiding. Burial will be in Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
