Margaret Louise Ballard

Margaret Louise Ballard, age 92, of Monterey, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022, in Warsaw, KY.

Born February 20, 1930 in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Arch and Ada Mae Giles McDonald. She was the widow of J.F. Ballard, who she married on August 31, 1946.  Preceding her in death was her son, Don Ballard. Mrs. Ballard was a member of Swallowfield Church of Christ and retired from the Commonwealth of Kentucky as secretary in the Department of Corrections, Probation and Parole branch.  She was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed watching CMT.  Her grandchildren remember Granny spoiling them with homemade ketchup and delicious fried cornbread.

She will be missed by her son, Johnny (Shirley) Ballard; grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt) Ballard Cull and John (Alexandra) Ballard; great grandchildren, Ford, Parker, Locket, and Jayce; and her brother, Arch McDonald, Jr.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Friday, August 5, 2022, from 11 am until 2 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 2 pm with Bro. Charlie Brown and Bro. Jeremy Warren presiding.Burial will be in the Monterey Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to the Frankfort Christian Academy, Tuition Assistance Program or Swallowfield Church of Christ.
