Malone Bourne

Edward Malone Bourne, 85, of Owenton, passed away peacefully on Friday, February, 20, 2015. Born August 4, 1929, in Owen County, he was the son of the late James “B.” and Mary Agnes Marston Bourne. He was the widower of Doris Ann Greene Bourne. Also preceding him in death were his siblings, Max, Charles, Clifford, James, Kate Devore, and Eilene Greybeal. Malone spent most of his life in Owenton. He served his country during the Korean War in the Army. He was a member of Owenton First Baptist Church. Most remember Malone for his warm greetings during the fifty years he operated Saveway Supermarket. Malone was proud of his surviving daughter, Ann K Bourne Scoggins (Tony), of Armuchee, Georgia; his son, Edward Malone Bourne, Jr. (Courtney) of Owenton; his three grandchildren: Shane Scoggins, Cody Scoggins, and Austin Bourne; and special friend, Peggy Rose. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 22, 2015, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the McDonald & New Funeral Home, 202 N Main Street, Owenton. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM with Bro. “Milkweed” Wotier presiding. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Owenton, Kitchen Fund.
