Lucy Greene Mccoy

I, Lucy Katherine Greene McCoy, have chosen to write my own obituary. I left this world on June 15, 2024, at 80 years of age.

My mother was Bernice McPherron Greene and my father was Cyrus E. Greene. I was born in Frankfort, Kentucky on June 1, 1944.

I attended Georgetown College where I received my BA and Masters degrees. I graduated college with my mother in 1966. I taught school in Owen County for 3 years and substitute taught for 26 years.

I married my high school sweetheart, Charles "Buck" McCoy in 1966. In 1969, we had our first daughter, Lisa Katherine, and in 1976, our second daughter Leigh Karil arrived.

I am a Christian and I have been a member of the Owenton First Baptist Church my entire life. On July 1, 1966, I married my high school sweetheart, Charles "Buck" McCoy.

I was preceded in death by my daughter, Lisa Katherine Schureman, and her son and my grandson, Chip Schureman. My sister, Doris Ann Bourne, also preceded me in death.

I leave behind my daughter, Leigh Karil Ward, and my son-in-law Brock Ward. Also, I leave behind my grandsons, Brax and Broox. My life revolved around these boys and my heart is heavy just thinking of leaving them.

Also surviving are my niece, Ann K. Scoggins (Tony), nephew, Ed Bourne (Courtney), and great-nephews Shane Scoggins, Cody Scoggins (Taylor), Austin Bourne, and great-great nephew and niece, Case and Berklee Scoggins.

Thank you to all of my family and friends for making a wonderful life for me.

Lisa, Chip, and I have a lot to catch up on. Hopefully, I can be a greeter in Heaven and I'll see each of you.

I have chosen to have a private service.
