Lucy Katherine Hall

Lucy Katherine Hall, age 104, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.Born July 30, 1912, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Gus and Gertrude McGinnis Smoot and was the widow of Ambrose Hall.  She was preceded in death by her ten siblings, Carl, Forrest, Teddy, Elton, Gusta, Roy, Ruben and Willard Smoot, Opal Hawkins and Eloise Wright.  Lucy was a member of the New Liberty Baptist Church but attended North Frankfort Baptist Church in her latter years.  Her faith and her family were the most important things to her.  She was full of life and enjoyed traveling, fishing and cooking.  She took great pleasure in playing pitch and dancing.She is survived by her sister, Eula Stephenson of Verona; her niece and care giver Shirley Luther as well as a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 4-8pm.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11am with Bro. David Smith presiding.  Burial will be in the Monterey Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to the Monterey Cemetery.
