Louise Smoot

Mary "Louise" Howell Smoot, age 89, of Frankfort, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021, at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

Born November 7.1931, in Ghent, KY, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Gladys Howell.  She was the widow of Bobby Glen Smoot, and also preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Walker, and her siblings, Freddie, Bobby, Doris, Wanda, Bill, and Raymond. Mrs. Smoot was a homemaker and a member of Buck Run Baptist Church.  Her life's work was caring for children. She loved being "Granny, not only to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren but the dozens of children she babysat for fifty-plus years.

Louise will be deeply missed by her daughter, Tina (Tim Bowling) Lilly; her son in law, Troy Walker; her grandchildren, Nichole, Brandon, Timothy, and Tiffany; her great-grandchildren, Hadley, Rowan, Marlie, Lynndon, Hannah, and Brayden; her siblings, Virgil Howell, Jackie Howell, and Jobelle Switzer; as well as a host extended family and friends.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Friday, October 8, 2021, from Noon until 2 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 2 pm with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding.  Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
