Alma Louise Gordon, age 79, of the Worthville community, passed away Monday, February 12, 2024.
Born October 4, 1944, in Corinth, KY, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Wilma Parker Mason. She was the widow of Prentice "Pete" Gordon and was also preceded in death by her siblings, Irville, Everett, Norman, Hugh, and James Mason, Ama Wright, Dorothy David, Betty Ann Mason, and Helen Osborne. Louise and Pete were married for 47 years, spending many of those raising tobacco and cattle together. Louise was a dedicated employee of Levi's Straus retiring with 42 years of service. She loved being on the farm, fishing, raising vegetables and canning, and taking side-by-side rides down to Big Twin Creek. She also enjoyed watching the Kentucky Wildcats play basketball. Her favorite tv shows were Little House on the Prarie, The Andy Griffin Show, Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy, and often commented she wished they'd make new episodes.
Louise will be deeply missed by her children, Steve (Armeda) Gordon and Carla (Larry) Norris; grandsons, Jeremy (Samantha) Norris and Steven Gordon; and her great-grandsons, Jameson and Garyson Norris. Several extended family members also survive.
New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, February 16, 2024, from Noon to 3 pm. Funeral services will follow at 3 pm with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
