Louise Gibson

Louise Gibson, 94, a Lexington resident and formerly of Owen County, passed away Wednesday March 6, 2013 at U.K. Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Jim and Margaret Hunt Ligon and was also preceded by her husband Noble, her daughter Judy Dempsey, a grandson Mark Lawrence, two sisters and a brother. Louise was the manager of the Dollar General for many years and a member of Salem Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Lawrence-Bertrand and husband Jim of Lexington, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Visitation is Saturday March 9 from noon til 2 PM with the funeral at 2 PM at McDonald & New - Seminary St. Burial will follow in the Owenton Cemetery and memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
