Ida Lorraine Hammond, a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on January 1, 2026, in Perry Park, Kentucky, at the age of 91. Born on November 14, 1934, in Grant County, Kentucky, Lorraine was the daughter of the late William and Beatrice Wainscott Suttles. She was raised in the Canby community. and carried with her a warm spirit that touched everyone who knew her.
While Lorraine was known for being an excellent housekeeper and cook, she truly shone in her role as a caretaker of her family. Everyone in her family relied on her knowledge of their genealogy, often calling her to navigate the intricacies of family ties. She had a remarkable ability to remember each person's birthday and made it a point to send cards, adding a personal touch to special holidays that brought joy to those around her.
Lorraine leaves behind her loving daughter, Belinda (Jimmy) Alexander; her cherished grandchildren, Doug Perkins, Angie Pulliam, Michelle Linville, Aaron Alexander, and Andy Alexander; and her 15 great-grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and happiness. Surviving her are her sister, Norma Jean Perkins, and her sister-in-law, Jean Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer David Hammond; her daughter, Pamela Hammond; and her siblings Mary Lou Clouser, Billy Suttles, and Phil Suttles.
A visitation will be held on January 9, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at New Funeral Homes, located at 202 N. Main Street, Owenton, KY 40359. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Owenton Cemetery, Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier will officiate.
Lorraine Hammond will be remembered for her love, kindness, and the beautiful legacy she crafted within her family, who will carry her memories forward in their hearts.
