Lois Evelyn Clemons, of Owenton, Kentucky, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends, Thursday, March 1st, at Owenton Manor. Born Dec. 29, 1921 in Clark County, Illinois to the late Robert Ledger and Goldie Ionia Clark, she was a loving and giving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She embraced the beauty of God’s miracles especially the animals and plants he created.  This brought much joy, love and beauty to her world as well as a sense of duty to help preserve and nurture all of God’s miracles especially animals in need. She traveled the world learning much about the people and beauty it held through the novels she read daily throughout her life. She enjoyed creating craft work to share with others such as quilts, afghans and of course teddy bears. She gained great joy, happiness, and priceless friendships as member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church as well as a former resident of Hideaway Hills. She is survived by her son-in-law Robert Gene Hoover, Sr. of Stamping Ground, KY., and former daughter-in-law Sandra Feltt of Vincennes, IN. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in passing by her late husband, of nearly 40 years, Charles Thomas Clemons, who passed in 2005. She was also a widow of Austin Sweet of Martinsville, IL. who passed away in 1971. She was also preceded by son Norman Hills of Centralia, IL., step-daughter Maxine Clemons Hoover of Stamping Ground, KY and sister Ruby Clark of Casey, IL. Services will be held at McDonald & New Funeral Home at 248 West Seminary Street, Owenton, KY 40359, on Monday March 5th.
