Lisa Ann Tackett, lovingly known as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 17 at 9:41 p.m., surrounded by love. She was 64 years old. Lisa made peace with her passing through her strong and unwavering faith in God, which guided her throughout her life and into eternity.
Lisa was born on November 5, 1961, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Juanita Greenfield and Regis Brackin. From an early age, her faith and compassion shaped the woman she became. She was a member of Squiresville Baptist Church, which helped form her loving heart and servant spirit, and later a member of Caesarea Church of Christ.
Lisa dedicated much of her life to caring for others. She worked as an in-home caregiver for the elderly, offering dignity, patience, and kindness to those who needed it most. Caring for others was not just her profession—it was who she was.
Above all else, Lisa’s greatest joy was her family. She was the proud and loving mother of five children: Andrea Brackin (Jeremiah Judd), Ashley Tackett, Alicia Tackett, Bruce Tackett (Amanda Mount), Brian Tackett and bonus son Jordan Adkins. She was a cherished grandmother to Haven Judd (Mallory McClure), Lukas Tackett (Shya Smith), Grant Judd, Madelyn Roberts, Kloey Tackett, Sydney Roberts, Harper Tackett, Aliyah Mount, Ezra Tackett, Grant Partin, Solan Tackett, and Wylie Tackett. She was also joyfully anticipating the arrival of a great-grandson due in March.
Lisa was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Wayne Tackett; her parents, Juanita Greenfield and Regis Brackin; her brother, Danny Smalley; her sisters, Regina Sue Brackin and Victoria Smalley; and her niece, Danielle Dawn Smalley.
She is survived by her sisters: Anita Gail Giles (Larry Giles), Kimberly Rivera-Padilla (Javier Padilla), Elizabeth Brackin, Debra Rouse, and Lanny Smalley, along with many Nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends who loved her deeply.
Services will be held at McDonald & New Funeral Home. Friends are invited to visitation on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the Main Street location, from 11:00 am to 2 pm, with a service led by Josh Gibson at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be made to McDonald & New Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
Lisa Ann Tackett will be remembered for her gentle heart, selfless love, steadfast faith, and the way she made everyone around her feel cared for. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched.
